About Us

Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, IRS 501 c (3), Virginia corporation incorporated in January 1993 for the purpose of building houses for God’s people in need.  We are an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, run by local volunteers.

In 1991, we began as an outgrowth of Central Valley Habitat for Humanity of Bridgewater and Harrisonburg.  Our first house in Staunton was built in 1992, our first in Waynesboro in 1994, and our first in Augusta Countyin 1996.

Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity actively solicits the prayers, financial contributions and volunteer labor of churches, businesses, area organizations and individuals in the combined effort of eliminating poverty housing in our community.

“We may disagree on all sorts of things—baptism, communion, what night to have prayer meetings, and how the preacher should dress.  But, thank God, we can agree on a nail and the use of a hammer as an instrument to manifest God’s love.”
