Project Funding Options
Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Habitat for Humanity (SAW HFH) is a Christian housing ministry serving God by bringing people together to build basic, quality, affordable homes. All donations and grant funds received from churches go directly towards our housing program.
Covenant pledge = $2,000 – $5,000 Area churches and or businesses who covenant with SAW Habitat for Humanity Christian housing ministry, recognize the importance of the theology of the hammer. The church provides yearly financial support, as well as prayer for the Habitat ministry. the church may also wish to sponsor programs to build awareness of our community needs and our Christian duty to eliminate suffering and poverty housing in order to lift a family up so they can help themselves.
Habitat Mission Patron = $10,000 Patrons make an impact in the funding needed for the construction of a home and our family educational programs, but they may not be able to provide volunteers for construction. Many times, patrons choose to remain anonymous.
House Mission Partner = $12,500 A few churches, businesses or groups join to sponsor home building for a month. Each organization is committed to raising their part of the funds and providing volunteers for each workday. This funding is paired with 5-6 other mission partners (usually another Church group and/or a business group).
House Sponsorship = $75,000 The cost to build a 3-bedroom HABITAT house today is about $100,000. Habitat commits to providing the land and leadership for the building which takes care of $25,000 of the needed funds. A house sponsor agrees to raise the remaining $75,000 and provide volunteers during the build (usually March-September). These partnerships are ecumenical – mission related programs that involve all parishioners or employees in the business.
